Kymco may not be one of the leading ATV brands, but it very well could grow more popular, as the Taiwanese company recently introduced the 2013 Kymco MXU 700i. The latest ATV to come from this manufacturer has been turning heads, and with good reason. This four-wheeler has all the torque and handling you’ll need to get work done, and it’s so fun to ride, you’ll probably want to take it out on your days off too. The company’s very first heavyweight ATV features a brand new engine and a sleek, modern styling that sets it apart from others in its class.

The MXU 700i has a 659cc single overhead cam, liquid-cooled engine that uses electronic fuel injection to improve fuel economy and provide a smoother burn. This allows riders to utilize every ounce of power the motor offers, which amounts to about 45 hp. Not only did Kymco engineers create the engine to be more efficient, but the motor itself weighs less than that found on the MXU500i, even though the 700i gets more power.

It is also extremely easy for riders to switch between two- and four-wheel drive, thanks to a push-button option on the shaft drive, making the ATV versatile and suitable for a variety of riding conditions. Even if the trail gets bumpy, the 700i’s 10.4 inches of ground clearance makes clearing most hurdles a breeze. You will hardly notice when the path gets a bit rocky, as the engineers used the same A-arm suspension from the 500i, but they added a bit of length to increase the amount of travel. When it comes to braking, there are hydraulic disc brakes mounted in the front and rear that will help you stop on a dime.

As far as looks go, Kymco made an effort to break free from the traditional rough-tough exterior of the ATV. This ride has a refined look that makes it appear more like a small barebones SUV than an ATV. It has a sleek styling that disguises a few cool accessories. There are actually locking storage compartments hidden in the tops of the front fenders, and the right fender has additional underside storage as well. Coupled with rear and front heavy-duty equipment racks, you’ll have more than enough places to stash work equipment or supplies for a fun day on the trails.

This monster of a 4×4 packs a punch when put to the test, and even when you’re not riding, the Raptor will be the envy of all other riders. In addition to its stunning good looks and impressive powertrain, the ATV is also designed to provide you with the utmost comfort, so you will feel great while looking cool and having a blast.

The Raptor’s 348cc single-stroke engine provides plenty of power when you’re revving up and the thrills don’t quit as you climb to higher speeds. Since the engine is air cooled, Yamaha made sure to place the air intake valve high up on the bike, so you don’t have to worry about mud or water clogging up the works. In fact, Yamaha describes the design of the intake as “snorkel-like,” which should give you a good idea of the ATVs riding range.

Whether you’re riding through muddy conditions or splashing through puddles, you’ll also have plenty of throttle control and excellent response no matter your rpm, thanks to a 36 millimeter Mikuni carburetor. If you get stuck in a tight spot, you can easily throw the ATV into reverse, no matter what gear you’re in. You’ll likely know what a boon this feature is if you’ve ever reached an impasse on the trail and had to work far too hard to get yourself turned around.

Yamaha lets you customize the look of your Raptor, which adds a personal touch to the fierce styling of the ATV. Every bike starts out white, and you can choose from 11 different graphics after you purchase the bike. Or, you could always get your own aftermarket accessories and create a custom look for your ride. While the sporty design may make this Raptor appear to be nothing but rugged power, the ATV is actually designed to offer loads of comfort for hours of easy riding. The large size of the four wheeler, combined with the low seat height and extra wide foot pegs, is perfectly aligned for the ideal ergonomic position for sport riding.

The sleek 2012 Honda Fury will be the envy of all the other riders in your neighborhood. This stunning factory chopper is bold and stylish, and packs a punch when you fire up the engine, giving it even more to be desired. The Fury is designed to look simple, but beneath that basic exterior, there are many different technologies and features that work to make this ride a stand-alone machine that is sure to impress even the most discerning riders.

For starters, the 1312cc liquid-cooled engine, combined with a five-speed gearbox, offers plenty of power and a loud, low rumble when you start up your ride. The chrome exhaust pipes can be replaced with aftermarket motorcycle accessories, such as the Cobra Speedster Swept Exhaust, which comes in a matte black that matches the design of the Fury. Regardless, this kitten will purr when you fire it up. Just slip the key in the ignition and use the push button start, which gets the engine rumbling like any good chopper should. It isn’t deafening, but certainly loud enough that you’ll turn heads when you roll down the street.

The 38mm throttle is particularly smooth, and when you get the chance to ride a Fury, one of the first things you will notice is that there is practically no resistance. This is especially beneficial with such a large engine, as you’ll have plenty of control whether you’re cruising through the neighborhood or heading out along the highway. When it comes to stopping power, the Fury has it in excess – the front brake disc is 336mm and the rear is 296mm. Honda also offers optional ABS, but this is only available on the black model. If you prefer the red or blue version, you can always look into aftermarket options to improve the bike’s brake system.

If you prefer to stick with Honda, the company has more than enough motorcycle gear to choose from to customize your ride. This includes everything from a sissy bar and a windscreen to a front spoiler and custom covers. There are a number of other options to purchase aftermarket accessories as well, letting you fine tune your Fury so it suits you to a “T.”

Riding in the 250 class can get quite competitive, as the smaller engine size means riders have to pay more attention to how they handle their bikes, and the ride itself needs to be in top condition if the racer wants to stand a chance at reaching the podium. The new 2013 Honda CRF250R provides you with top-of-the-line technology and motorcycle accessories, all on a lightweight dirt bike that can move around the track with ease. The motorbike manufacturer didn’t make any major changes to the engine, frame or steering damper, since they’ve all proven to be effective in past models. But Honda did tweak the specifications a bit to improve upon the impressive 2012 model.

The 2013 CRF250R keeps the same 249cc Unicam engine that can be found on the 2012 edition. The motor features a battery-less fuel injection system that has been recalibrated to allow for a more efficient burn and greater power output, and also reduces the bike’s overall weight. With all that energy coming out of this lightweight bike, it’s important that riders be able to stop easily, and Honda’s wave-style brake rotors help ensure that they can.

The big changes for the 2013 model come in the suspension. Honda added new damping circuitry to both the rear and front suspensions, which, along with new front fork springs, allow for better absorption when you encounter bumpy tracks. The revamped system is the key to the improved handling you will find on the 2013 CRF250R. Honda also decided to use a new set of tires for the new bike – the brand new Dunlop GeoMax MX51 tires are designed to provide greater traction, making them ideal for a variety of riding conditions. They are also a bit lighter than the tires used in 2012, contributing to an overall weight reduction.

When you ride the 2013 CRF250R, you’ll notice it handles better around corners than the previous model. In general, the low-end power output outshines the 2012 bike, and this is due largely to the reduced weight and fuel injection tweaks. Riding also feels better, thanks to Honda’s attention to detail when it comes to rider comfort. A few modifications have made this bike feel natural between your legs, so you can focus all of your attention on the track rather than a stiff back or a leg cramp.

Can-Am unveiled the newest member of its UTV lineup, the Maverick 1000R, a few months ago at the Sand Super Sport Show in Orange County, California, and this side-by-side promises to be nothing short of amazing. It offers some of the best performance in its class, thanks to a powerful but fuel-efficient engine. There are also many other UTV accessories that help this beast of an off-road ride really tear it up. Can-Am designed the Maverick to go toe-to-toe with the Arctic Wildcat 1000i and the Polaris RZR XP900, and from the initial debut, it looks like the Maverick will be able to do just that and more.

The Maverick is the first side-by-side to push the horsepower envelope beyond 100 horses. Can-Am claims the UTV will offer 101 hp, which is 15 percent better performance than the Commander it’s replacing. This much power is possible due to the Rotex 1000R V-twin engine that has a high-tech electronic fuel injection system. The EFI automatically adjusts to the riding conditions – wet or dry, hot or cold – to ensure you’ll get a peak performance no matter what the weather is like. It doesn’t hurt that Can-Am also modified the air intake and exhaust systems for better airflow. The intake and dual exhaust valves are larger and the intake is positioned higher to help avoid getting debris in the engine. The whole air system is run on a closed-loop system and even features a catalytic converter, so the Maverick is not only powerful, but environmentally conscious as well.

Can-Am also designed a stronger, more versatile belt for the transmission of the Maverick. They claim the new belt offers more than double the strength than those found on Commanders. Plus, Commander owners aren’t left in the lurch, since the company is making the new belt available as an aftermarket part as well. While Can-Am made a number of improvements on the Maverick that help it stand out from the Commander, the company kept a lot of the features that the old model was lauded for. For instance, riders can still choose between sport or standard mode simply by flipping a switch on the dashboard.

There are so many other features, we can’t possibly cover everything, since Can-Am is offering more than 70 different add-ons to fully customize this bike. All in all, this UTV looks to be one of the top competitors when it comes to off-road performance.
